Amazing Moroccan food, nice ambience , we will come here again and don't forget to ask for the dessert the Moroccan cookies will blow you away !10 stars if I could give it 10
This place is such a gem. The food here is just outstandingly delicious, from the delicately spiced couscous with raisins or their rich Basteeya. At the price it's also an unbelievable deal. We get takeout at least once a month since we discovered this place - and hope it always be around. There's no better place that I know of in SF to get such good Moroccan food at this price point. And frankly, having been to Mourad, Aziza, I think this place is every bit as good. Their Basteeya is better!
The food was absolutely amazing, I don't know where to begin. The mint tea is perfect. This was my first time having bastilla and it was incredible we also ordered kefta tagine and chicken couscous. The service was also great and homey, I can't wait to go back
The food here is outstanding. I have had the lamb kebab (not lamb chops kebab) with rice and salad for years. The consistency and quality stays the same, the price has stayed the same or almost the same as well. And the work crew has been the same for years.
This is the best couscous I've had in the States. It's better than the couscous I've had in Morocco. The kefta is possibly the best kefta I have ever had. It's saturated in flavor, they must marinate it for hours. And they grill some sausage that's also really amazing. The tri-salad is awesome also. I could have just eaten that tri-salad by itself. The service is really friendly. We came on Christmas eve so we were the only ones there with a to-go couple that walked in, but my sister told me it's always a bit empty. Crazy. Like crazy. I don't know why this place isn't packed every night.
Probably one of the best meals we've had in San Francisco. Lamb couscous was amazing - though maybe that's just Moroccan food, idk. Sprinted here to get a quick bite before a concert (was a bite out of the way). The boyfriend was a bit skeptical until he had the first bite. So good! Great combination of sweet and spices and savory. Bastilla was also good, maybe a bit sweet, could have used something more acidic to complement, but alas we only had two stomachs to fill.
Glad I stumbled across this small hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Nob Hill! We started off with the Moroccan Mint Tea Pot, which came with great presentation (e.g., beautiful pot, poured from a high height) and was surprisingly sweet. Then, for our mains, we got lamb tagine with green peas and chicken cous cous with raisins. Both were very hearty and came with generous portions! I had never had Moroccan food before so the flavors were very unique, and now my interest is piqued for the next Moroccan restaurant I see!
Amazing food. Opened a new world for me. I've never had Moroccan food before and I just came across this restaurant's UberEats page and the pictures of the dishes all looked very appetizing, so I decided to give it a try and I'm glad that I did. The lamb in the lamb shank tagine i ordered was so soft and tender and moist, fell right off the bone, fulled of flavors and yet you can still taste and feel the strong and unique aroma of lamb. I'm obsessed. I feel like I haven't tasted what lamb tasted like for so long. I really like the peas and carrots too as they were also super soft and flavorful. The complimentary bread that it comes with was delicious too, it has a nice chewy texture on the outside and super soft and airy on the inside, which made it perfect for sucking up the juices from the lamb shank tagine. I wish I can order more bread as it goes with the dish more than rice does. I will definitely come back and try out other dishes.
I love Moroccan cuisine and this neighborhood spot in San Francisco is the perfect casual spot to open the doors to Moroccan food. I have been going to Aicha for the past few years and some of the other Moroccan restaurants in San Francisco offer belly dancing and music and a more pricier menu. Aicha is a good introduction to Moroccan cuisine. My friends and I ordered the chicken kebabs, the lamb tagine, kefta tagine and the fabulous chicken bastilla. The lambs were tender and came with a really good sauce as well as the kefta tagine which is beef and lamb meatballs. The kefta sauce goes very well with the riceband bread. The chicken bastilla is one of my favorite appetizers and it's a meat pie with combination of sweet and savory flavors that is topped with powdered sugar and cinnamon. The letdown though was the chicken kebabs which were pretty hard and dry. I've had it before in the past and it's normally tender but last night, it was pretty dry. Service is normal and they are very short staffed, so it's just one guy pretty much doing all of the work, so be prepared to be patient, but be prepared to enjoy amazing food as well. Love it!
I came here for the chicken bastilla, but ended up enjoying another dish way more: the chicken couscous with raisins and onions. So good! The sweet and saltiness of it worked very well together. The dish was topped with sliced half cooked egg and dates which added to its goodness. The chicken bastilla (sweet chicken pastry) had scrambled egg in it which I didn't love and it was slightly burnt on the bottom. It was good in general though. The other dish we ordered was the beef kabob plate which was decent. The spices made the beef taste slightly lamb like. It came with pilaf and a feta cranberry salad. The salad was wonderful. I'd like to come back to try their tagines (clay pots).
